to the press, our coalition efforts seem to have paid off.
June 13th 2001, FSC hand delivered a letter co-signed by 33 organizations,
covering the full political spectrum, to all Members of the U.
S. House and Senate, opposing H.R. 577 and S. 645.
bills opened the slippery slope of requiring Presidential libraries,
expanded to require other nonprofits, to disclose the names of their
donors. These bills were moving virtually unopposed until our letter
was hand delivered. Now, the press describes the bills as "stalled"
because of our efforts.
